Nick Clegg tells it like it is !

I’m not a massive fan of the ‘yah – boo’ behaviour in Westminster,
But I can’t stand it when Labour MPs ‘forget’ who pays their bills.

Nick Clegg tells Sadiq Khan the truth about Labour party funding:

Permanent puddle at Southwark Park Road

The drain outside number 14 Southwark Park Road is blocked,
meaning there is a permanent puddle on the pavement.
I have asked council officers to sort it out.

Remembrance Service – Kennington Cenotaph

I hope you had a moment of  peace this morning,
I was fortunate enough to lay a wreath at my local cenotaph at Kennigton.
Here I am with Lambeth Lib-Dem Councillor Ishbel Brown from Oval ward.
It was lovely to meet across the borough boundary, and commemorate ‘The fallen ones’ together.

Rememberance Sunday 13th November

I plan to lay a remembrance wreath at Kennington Park.
Last year I was honoured to walk with Southwark’s  deputy Mayor Lorraine Lauder OBE.

Dangerous Wall at Dunton Road, Mandela Way

I must have passed it a thousand times, but one of our supporters asked me to find out if the wall was safe.
I asked council officers to find out about it.
I don’t have a ‘before’ photo, but I passed by today to see it has been removed,
loads of passers by are thanking the contractors for making it safe.

Here is the letter I got saying the wall was intact and secure.
Less than month later, the land owner has had it knocked down.

Thanks

We don’t do this for the money, and we never expect a thank – you !
We can spend hours working on a problem, then never hear from the person again.
BUT
Sometimes we get a little note of thanks, a letter, or email:
“……making our neighbourhood improve.
Sometimes it is very difficult to have our voices heard and see things changing for better,
but we are glad to know that we can count on councillors like yourself….”
‘Thank You’ to the person who wrote that:
We will carry on doing the job you elected us to do….
to try and make your neighbourhood a better place.

Rotherhithe Community Council – Southwark’s Top Cop speaks

I took an couple of hours to attend Rotherhithe Community Council last night.
Wayne Chance, the Police’s Borough Commander spoke about this year’s crime.
He told us that much crime has fallen
, along with some anecdotes about the summer riots.

Cllr Rajan questioned him about domestic violence.
His talk was well received by all.

BAG IT!!! around the Manor Estate

Why do some dog owners have to spoil it for others?
Ask anyone who knows me what I think about people who hunt and kill animals.
but my humanity doesn’t extend to people who don’t clear up after their dogs!

OH NO!
Ask anyone with a wheel chair, or parents with buggies,
it simply is not fair .

I asked council officers to spray these stencils around the Manor Estate

We ended up with more than a dozen around the streets!

I hope it makes a difference – next step is to get officers issuing fines!

Graffitti Team tidying up at Lucy Way – Rock Grove Way

Nice to see the Graffiti Clear Up Team out and about on Rock Grove Way.
Seems like the message is getting across, that we care about our estates, and we want to keep them clean and tidy.
