The statement begins:
You may have recently heard suggestions that the Childrens Centres at South Bermondsey and Bishop House will close.

Bermondsey Community Council – Tenda Road Nursery
Predictably The Tenda Road nursery delegation created quite a stir.
The parents spoke briefly, and we discussed the closure for some time.
Labour obviously don’t have a clue about what really matters to local people.
The sooner they reverse the decision, the easier, and cheaper it will be for all of us.

Childrens’ Centres and Nurseries
This is from Southwark News March 31st 2011

Labour has chosen to shut our nurseries,
less than a year ago they were sending out press releases saying “children’s services are safe“
We are still waiting for a statement from the Southwark Council’s ruling Labour group.

Mansion tax – or just increase the number of Council tax brackets?
Why impose a mansion tax?

maybe just update the council tax scheme by adding bands I, J, K, L & M……?
The charges are based on 1991 values,
many homes have doubled in value since then.
I don’t know of any properties worth less than £40,000 (band A) on the market today!
