Labour Southwark – No money to ‘Save our Nurseries’, but spending half a million on agency staff ?
Following a Freedom of Information request:
It has been revealed that Southwark paid £524,124 for agency staff at nurseries and children’s centres in Southwark last year.
£164,383 alone was spent at the Tenda Road Centre in South Bermondsey.
When they are spending half a million pounds a year on agency staff,
no wonder Southwark can’t afford to keep the nurseries open!
Southwark need to look closely at its wages bill,
and employ full timers to look after our children,
not casual agency staff!
