Camilla Road – Iceland’s rubbish problem

The Iceland Shop in The Blue has been causing problems.
The rubbish often gets opened, and scattered around the top of Camilla Road.
I went to visit the manager today.
She showed me around the loading bay, and told me how they have changed the waste procedure.
Now they keep the rubbish in the store, until the waste lorry is on its way,
then they take it out the front, for the waste truck to take it away.
Hopefully this will solve the problem.

Before – but now the red bin has gone,
And they are taking rubbish out the front.

The Connect 2 bridge at Rotherhithe New Road

This bridge is planned to link Stubbs Way to Suth Bermondsey Station.
It could have a massive positive effect on residents of Stubbs Way and Rosetti Road.
There are some worries about risk of crime, and it is essential that these are addressed in any proposals.
The entire project is ‘at risk’ as the negotiations between Southwark Council and Network Rail have taken so long.
I got along to the public meeting last Thursday, which was well attended.

Labour advisor sacked for saying Ken cannot win Mayoral race

The Telegraph’s London correspond writes:

full article here
Does this mean the Liberal Democrat, former policeman Brian Paddick has a real chance?
His analysis of the summer riots has struck a note with many people.
I’ll be happy to campaign for him.

Knife in the back for Manor Estate residents

Imagine my horror when I was visiting a resident on the Manor estate last weekend, as she showed me this letter from the Housing Dept.

The key paragraph:

I am going to attend the one hour longĀ  public meeting on
9th November
8 – 9pm
at The TA Hall Galleywall Road.
I wonder if 60 minutes will be long enough?
