Councils officers are recommending these two old boys should be cut down.
Tragic, they are 120 year old London Plane trees,
They are in the wrong place, the pavement on the other side of the road is about 10 yards wide.
These trees are pushing pedestrians into the road.
There is no room for buggies, prams, or wheel chairs. If you have a better idea, please let me know.
buying the land next them to widen the pavement is a non starter, extending the pavement around them,
and narrowing the road won’t happen either.
With permission from the land owner just remove a small part of the brick wall and install a half round bend of either 5mm cast or stainless steel on posts that would give the clearance for pushchairs.with a small plauqe stating this tree has been saved by the landowner ?.
The engineering is quit simple and not that expensive please keep the trees.
