The National lottery awarded £600,000 to get this bridge into use as a cycle path, and pedestrian crossing.
It would mean residents of Stubbs Drive, and Rossetti Road would not have to walk for 20 minutes, and cross the Main Road to get to the station
It would also open up the planned Millwall development to cyclists, and local residents.
I got an email today saying the scheme was having problems:
“in particular over the last 12 months” since Labour took control.
It needs to be finished by March 2012, or no funding is available.
The council and Network Rail need to sort this out, or we lose the money!
The unused bridge could become a massive boost to the area, but can Southwark Council and Network Rail sort out the details?
