I chaired the Bermondsey Community Council planning meeting last night.
The last item was to spend £120,000 on converting the roof of the Tooley Street offices into a terrace for ‘dignitaries and guests’
My colleagues who were sitting on the committee were concerned that there might be overlooking and disturbance to neighbours.
It emerged that the cost of fitting lights, and raising the balcony surround was costed at £120,000
I was pleased that no-one on the committee voted for granting the conversion.
It is reported here on the SE1 website.
